I wanted happiness for myself, and I had struggled for a long time. I swore to God that I would make myself a happier person. I was trained in mathematics for 6 years, engineering for 4 years, and I had masters in computer science, and I started pursuing further education. But guess what, I ended up in a situation where my research data went against popular views. I went to all big research institutes to validate my hypothesis, theories, and research. I end up hitting the wall In those interacti …

We'll discuss different kinds of algorithms. First, we'll try to understand basic algorithms. We'll also discuss simple puzzles and brain teasers. If you are not from mathematical background, you'll find it simple and if you are from computer science, you'll find it interesting. You can also post any algorithms you want to discuss in particular. Learning Practical Applications: We'll try to understand algorithms practical applications. The challenge is not to write complex algorithms but to …
Welcome! We are a diverse group of open-minded people with interests that are somewhat unusual. Our hope is for the Geek Club (Peninsula Chapter) to be a place for meeting like-minded people with which to go on adventures or just hang out. Most of our events are very laid-back, so don't be afraid to jump right in. Our group definition of geeky is fairly broad. Anything off the beaten track: anime, computers, science and science fiction, cult films, unusual art processes, fighting robots and …

I recently attended my first conference for women in technology (the Grace Hopper Celebration) and was blown away by how exciting it was to be surrounded by so many smart, awesome women in tech. Join up if you want that experience (on a smaller scale, of course) here in Silicon Valley! I'm picturing this as a group where we can get together socially and meet other women who share our passion for computers and technology. We could also meet up at events like She's Geeky or attend tech seminars.
There are demands for good mathematicians to write algorithms that can churn through billions or trillions of data points and show where patterns emerge. The Economist data issue raised this issue as follows: "During the recent financial crisis it became clear that banks and rating agencies had been relying on models which, although they required a vast amount of information to be fed in, failed to reflect financial risk in the real world. This was the first crisis to be sparked by big data—and …
Data Science! It's all the talk these days! Our team, 0xdata, wants you to join the discussion about our new fast analytics engine, H2O. H20 is ran on top of HDFS. H20 makes it possible to learn bigdata at scale. H20 guarantees one thing: move code, not data. move fast. Join our group! Join the discussion!

Computer scientists, biologists, system biologists and anyone interested in the new world of computational biology: Get together for conversations about the most fascinating topics you can think of, the new frontiers of what hackers can do in the life sciences. Look for entrepreneurs, co-founders, co-workers, research connections or just an enjoyable evening with stimulating new ideas. We may have topical presentations and a larger venue in the future. Let's just see what ideas people will have.

We intend to have regularly scheduled talks on prodigious systems-programming top …

Hello, I'm @sidgabriel, the organizer of ARDevMob: The San Francisco Bay Area and Silicon Valley Augmented Reality Meetup group. Augmented reality is a human interface metaphor. Unlike the "desktop metaphor" which implies a computerized representation of a desk, files and folders, "Augmented Reality" implies that computer science can inform and extend everything in our visual, auditory and cognitive perception of reality. Making every interface relevant to a "first person" narrative perspective. …

This is a spin-off of the Bay Area Software Quality Group which has stagnated over the past several months. The purpose of this group is to discuss all things regarding software quality engineering. This includes automation, unit testing, exploratory testing, load/performance testing and any other type of testing strategy that comes up. Although this group is centered on test engineers, there should be plenty of valuable data for others within the software development ecosystem.

3D Printing, also known as Additive Manufacturing, is an exciting and potentially game changing technology that will dramatically alter the way products are designed, manufactured, distributed and financed. A standard digital file (.stl) of an object is created, either by using Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software or a 3D scanner, and is sent to a dedicated machine which builds the object layer-upon-layer in a material such as plastic, metal or ceramic. Today the technology is mainly used for ra …
